Published almost 100 years ago, Virginia Woolf's novel of the same name follows the absurd epic of a young aristocrate across the centuries and genres. First a man, then a woman after a long sleep, Orlando remains unchanged in personality.

What changes is the historical context, the way others look at them, and the social straitjackets.

Katia Ferreira takes hold of this avant-garde novelistic material and shifts it from the present of the writing to the present of the performance, extending the contemporary resonances of this bold fresco that describes a thoroughly modern fluidity of identity.

Blending theatre, music and direct cinema, with changes of costume and focus, she orchestrates a succession of eras and landscapes around this romantic, dreamy soul, a being of metamorphoses and a metaphor for free will.
