Potomitan - Compagnie Skanda

Presented by Le Carré d'Argent. Jade Lada's cross-cultural dance powerfully and movingly questions women's emancipation. Carried by the same momentum, three performers begin a dance that is at once powerful and fragile.

Their bodies support one another, fall and play with gravity in an atmosphere shot through with breath and words. Every gesture becomes a story, that of the women known in Creole as Potomitan, those "pillar" mothers who hold the family together with strength and resilience.

In an electro-acoustic atmosphere, the trio rises to a state of intoxicating release. Drawing on her Guadeloupean roots, choreographer Jade Lada pays a vibrant tribute to her grandmother.

Through dance, she celebrates a life shaped by sacrifice and hardship, but also by stubbornness and courage.
