Overview
"Barbara, Du bout des lèvres" is a new choreographic creation by Benjamin Millepied. Marked since childhood by the world of singer Barbara, he draws on this intimate memory a burst of dance nourished by the artist's powerful melodies and finely chiselled words.
The songs, both intimate and universal, become the very source of the movement. In a bare, luminous space, the dancers embody a range of emotions that run through the singer's work, from nostalgia to passion, from tenderness to tragedy.
A diversity of generations and feminine presences resonates like a poetic echo of Barbara herself, whose songs embrace the whole spectrum of existence: youth, maturity, memory, loss and love that runs through an entire life.
The dance unfolds to the rhythm of the melodies and words, transforming the stage into a place full of life, joyful and vibrant.

Benjamin Millepied is a French dancer, choreographer and film director, born 10 June 1977 in Bordeaux. A principal dancer with the New York City Ballet, he directed dance at the Paris Opera from November 2014 to July 2016.
