In Book XI of The Confessions – a classic of philosophical thought – Saint Augustine poses a question that is both simple and profound: What is time? He then adds: « If no one asks me, I know. If I am asked and want to explain it, I no longer know. » Through his vibrant embodiment, combining humour and depth, Stanislas Roquette brings the philosopher's thought to life, with the vivacity of a master clockmaker. An hour of suspended time!
