Inhabiting the world and building community on a grand scale

For more than a decade, Aurélie Charon, a producer at France Culture, has roamed the world with a microphone in hand, meeting her contemporaries and forming lasting friendships and enduring bonds. These are three Vivantes, each of whom has lived through a war: as a child, as a teenager or as an adult. In Bosnia, in Syria, in Ukraine. Each has resisted and continues to resist. Oksana, Hala and Ines travelled together to Sarajevo to question post-war society. There are resistant daughters and mothers in Kyiv, Latakia and Mostar. They take on strong commitments: heading to the Ukrainian front with journalists, creating a shelter for refugees, and working in fiction to speak more truthfully about reality. How do you tell the experience of war to those who do not live through it?
