For over a decade, Aurélie Charon, a producer at France Culture, has been travelling the world with a microphone in hand, meeting her contemporaries, forging loyal friendships and lasting bonds.

These are three Vivantes, each having experienced a war: as a child, teenager, or adult. In Bosnia, Syria, Ukraine. Each has resisted and continues to resist. Oksana, Hala, and Ines went together to Sarajevo to question post-war society. There are resistant daughters and mothers in Kyiv, Latakia, and Mostar. They hold strong commitments: going to the Ukrainian front with journalists, creating a refugee reception centre, working with fiction to better speak about reality. How do you tell the experience of war to those who are not living it?
