Take Me Out : Au Pairs en concert à Paris (Les Femmes S'en Mêlent)

Au Pairs is a post-punk band originally formed in 1978. In 1983, the original line-up had split up. After a long hiatus, the group reformed with a new line-up that includes the original singer, Lesley Woods.

The current line-up features Estella Adeyeri (of Big Joanie) on bass, Alex Ward (known for his collaborations with Thurston Moore and Pere Ubu) on guitar, and Jem Doulton (also associated with Thurston Moore) on drums.

They are currently undertaking their first major UK tour in more than 40 years, revisiting their 1981 debut album, "Playing with a Different Sex", while presenting new tracks ahead of a recording planned later in the year.

In February 2026, the band played a series of sold-out shows in Arnhem, Venlo, Leiden and Eindhoven, in the Netherlands.

Formed in the late 1970s, in the post-punk era, Au Pairs stood out by combining politically engaged and feminist themes with a rhythmic, danceable sound influenced by funk. Their work has often been described as ahead of its time.

The current line-up brings renewed energy to the band's songs, underlining their continued relevance in the contemporary context. Their live performances are direct and captivating: rhythmic, impeccably controlled and focused on maintaining a strong connection with the audience.

The result is an immediate and immersive concert that leaves the audience full of energy and totally captivated.
