Overview
Velvet Nathalie Béasse theatre Salle Renaud-Barrault Duration 1h10 Animated set to dream with eyes open Unlike any classical narrative, Nathalie Béasse carves out a path of her own, and her highly visual stage writing sits at the crossroads of theatre, dance and performance.
Trained at the Beaux-Arts, the director has a gift for creating living tableaux, organic or evanescent tales, and dreamlike, piercing visions.
In velvet, three performers merge with the set to transform it before our eyes and generate stories that come from nowhere, unpredictable and enigmatic, choreographies of matter built around an emblematic scenographic element: the theatre curtain.
Evoking the drapery of classical painting or the passage between worlds, it is here endowed with movement and, why not, with a soul.
