Deeply attached to Clichy, where he lived for many years, Anatole Édouard Nicolo is particularly delighted to present here, for the first time, the stage adaptation of his novel À l'ombre des choses, winner of the Prix Envoyé par la Poste 2024.Alone on stage, he recounts the story of a child growing up amid the laughter of a family of artists and the upheaval caused by his parents' separation. Tossed between a social welfare hostel, a squat and small everyday refuges, he searches for his place in a world that sometimes seems to slip away from him. At his side, one presence endures: that of his older brother, who gradually finds his own path in music. Through this autobiographical account, Anatole Édouard Nicolo addresses, with restraint and sincerity, the fragilities of childhood, family ties, the unspoken and the building of the self. Carried by a spare staging in which sound and light extend the emotions of the story, the show gives flesh to an intimate tale that resonates with many life journeys.
