Overview
Works by Rameau, Bizet, Gounod, Ravel, Poulenc… Although he has explored many other repertoires (curiosity being part of his DNA), Alexandre Tharaud is passionate about French music.
It was with this music that he first made his name with the public in the 1990s, and ever since he has never ceased to return to it regularly.
Although he particularly enjoys complete cycles, for this concert he instead assembles a varied bouquet that bears witness to the artistic richness of France.
Composers shaped by the Romantic idiom, such as Gounod, Bizet and Massenet, are answered by the moderns Debussy and Ravel, while between the two, Fauré or Chabrier provide the transition.
