As Colin and the rest of the band have often explained in the past, all the Masses were born from an accumulation of trials in their private lives. But this time, nothing particularly shattering was happening. 'It didn't feel like a Mass,' Colin explains.
'It's something completely different. There's a lot more narration, a lot more acoustic and stripped passages, and Caro also plays an important role. Despite the Masses, we're not really a band that does conceptual albums.
We simply write, never really knowing where it will take us. '
