Overview
When Ariane Ascaride packs her bags and decides to tell her life story, things move fast in a text as taut as clockwork, co-written with Marie Desplechin and choreographed by Thierry Thieû Niang. What a lot of memories and family stories packed into these six suitcases! Thus weighed down, Ariane Ascaride arrives on stage with all her baggage to leave nothing out of her rather strange story. There is plenty to tell when you grow up between a communist father, a philanderer mad about opera who sets the Chœurs de l'Armée Rouge howling, and a almost mute mother. Naturally, the little girl is a touch “touchée par les fées”, as they say in Marseille, a bit daft. Ariane finds this funny, and she unrolls the thread of her existence as an endearing, slapstick comedy, offering herself the role of a lifetime like a gift from the fairies.
