When Ariane Ascaride unpacks her bags and decides to tell her life story, it's a powerful performance based on a meticulously crafted text, co-written with Marie Desplechin and choreographed by Thierry Thieû Niang.

So many memories and family stories are packed into these six suitcases!

Thus laden, Ariane Ascaride arrives on stage with all her worldly goods, determined not to forget anything from her peculiar story.

Indeed, there's plenty to tell when you grow up between a communist, philandering father, mad about opera, who blasts the Red Army Choir, and a mother who is almost mute. Naturally, the little girl is a bit “touched by the fairies” as they say in Marseille, a little bit crazy. Ariane laughs about it, and she unspools the thread of her existence like an endearing and burlesque comedy, offering us the role of her life as a gift from the fairies.
