Bakian Chante Aznavour

Bakian takes to the stage at L'Olympia to perform the repertoire of Charles Aznavour through the prism of pop-rock and independent music.

Bakian takes hold of Charles Aznavour's repertoire to offer a personal reinterpretation rooted in pop-rock and indie aesthetics. This artistic approach pits the tradition of French chanson against contemporary arrangements, driven by the guitars and rhythms typical of the rock format. Accustomed to performing his own compositions on record and on stage, the artist tackles a vast musical heritage, ranging from the major classics of the 1950s and 1960s to later works.

On stage, the set is structured around a streamlined lineup, favouring band dynamics to convey the power of Aznavour's lyrics while maintaining a current musical colour. The concerts for this project stand out for their direct execution, free from excessive artifice, which highlights the melodic structure of the original tracks. For this performance, L'Olympia offers seated or standing configurations depending on the areas of the venue, allowing the audience to appreciate the clarity of the arrangements within a historic landmark of the 9th arrondissement.

This concert is aimed at fans of bold reinterpretations and listeners curious to discover Aznavour's poetry from an unusual aesthetic angle. The evening brings together lovers of French chanson and independent pop, eager to hear these heritage melodies carried by a singular artistic direction.
