Benjamin Millepied

"Barbara, Du bout des lèvres" is a new choreographic creation by Benjamin Millepied. Marked since childhood by the world of singer Barbara, he draws on this intimate memory to bring a dance driven by her powerful melodies and finely chiselled lyrics.

The songs, at once intimate and universal, become the very source of the movement. Within a stripped-back, luminous space, the dancers embody a palette of emotions that run through the singer's work, from nostalgia to passion, from tenderness to tragedy.

A diversity of generations and feminine presences resonates as a poetic echo of Barbara herself, whose songs embrace the full spectrum of existence: youth, maturity, memory, loss and love that carries through an entire lifetime.

The dance unfolds to the rhythm of the melodies and words, turning the stage into a space full of life, joyful and vibrant.
