Presented by Rage Tour It's been 10 years that Cachemire shakes French rock's coconut tree. It's been 10 years that Cachemire shakes our bones with corrosive guitars, beaten drums and caustic lyrics. Suffit Juste d'Une Seconde does not deviate from the rule.
On this new album, aficionados will rediscover with delight the « Cachemire fibre » woven since Photochope-Moi that electrifies hair and coats skin with a sweat film from head-and heel-beating rhythm. But time has this virtue of allowing patina.
Cachemire's coat became, in a decade, leather refined title after title. Lyrics remain just as biting, clear, direct, pointing fingers at our flaws, absurdities, clumsiness, without ever offering lessons.
And the group renounces nothing of its abrasive punk — even metal — tangents like those from Dernier Essai. But 2025 undoubtedly marks a return to foundations. To roots. To soil. To the group's nourishing earth. Rock. Pure. Simple. Impactful.
This latest album's sound is full and dense. Guitar riffs are there and very much there. Keys too. Strings and organs undoubtedly. The 13 short melodic films are effective. Very effective. They are tight, powerful and unambiguous. The endings are clean, sharp. It's hewn roughly.
Hewn for the stage. Hewn in rock. Suffit juste d'une seconde doesn't disintegrate. Doesn't stray into complexity or complication. And this tanning is unique. The heavy work on choirs and FredBastar's voice testifies to this.
Always tinged with that peppercorn stuck in the throat so characteristic, it frees itself from musical coating at a « Adam » or « Seul » turn to speak to us between four eyes and tell us: « Listen well. It's important. » There is hope in the lyrics.
