Cachemire

Presented by Rage TourÇa, Cachemire has been shaking up French rock for ten years. For ten years, Cachemire has been rattling our bones with corrosive guitars, crackling drums and caustic lyrics. Suffit Juste d’Une Seconde does not break with the rule.

On this new album, aficionados will delight in rediscovering the 'Cachemire fibre' woven since Photochope-Moi, which electrifies the hair and lacquers the skin with a film of sweat as they beat time with head and heels. But time has the virtue of lending patina.

Cachemire's coat has, over a decade, become leather that has been refined track by track. The lyrics are still as biting, clear and direct, pointing a finger at our failings, our absurdities and our clumsiness, without ever lecturing.

And the band disowns nothing of its abrasive punk, even metal, excursions such as those on Le Dernier Essai. But 2025 undoubtedly marks a return to the foundations. To the roots. To the fertile soil, the band's nurturing earth. Rock. Pure rock. Simple. Punchy.

The sound of this latest album is full and dense. The guitar riffs are there, and very much there. The keyboards too. The strings and organs, without a doubt. The 13 short melodic films are effective. Very effective. They are tight, powerful and unambiguous.

The endings are clean and sharply cut. It is hewn with a billhook. Hewn for the stage. Hewn from the rock(k). Suffit Juste d’Une Seconde does not come apart. It does not stray into complexity or even complication. And this tanning is unique.

Witness the substantial work on the backing vocals and the voice of FredBastar.

Still tinged with that peppercorn lodged in the windpipe, so characteristic, the voice breaks free of the musical coating at a turn of 'Adam' or 'Seul' to speak to us eye to eye and say: 'Listen carefully. ' There is hope in the lyrics. We live better in '2080' than in 2020.
