The daughter of jazz bassist Carroll Dashiell Jr, born in Washington DC and raised in North Carolina, Christie Dashiell has been singing all her life and brings a deeply rooted musical heritage to her performances. Recognised for her improvisational talents, stratospheric scat abilities, and naturally rich and clear voice, Christie Dashiell is today one of the most sought-after artists on the international jazz scene. She has performed alongside master drummer Terri Lyne Carrington, vibraphonist Stefon Harris, the Black Lives collective, saxophonists Lakecia Benjamin and Marcus Strickland, producer Adam Blackstone, and many other leading artists. “Journey in Black” strongly highlights Dashiell’s personality and reinforces her reputation.
