Overview
Compagnie Nicolas Huchard CREDO Plural masculinities are revealed in CREDO, where eight dancers, guided by choreographer Nicolas Huchard, question and subvert gender assignments.
Between grace and power, this elegant troupe, dressed in leather trousers and tailored jackets, shapes new, subversive and joyful ways of being men. " That's the starting point for Nicolas Huchard's mesmerising CREDO.
The pop-influenced choreographer, who has long worked in fashion and music — he has danced for Madonna, Lady Gaga and Aya Nakamura — brings together eight performers to embody a multiplicity of shades of masculinity.
On a shape-shifting stage, at once a dance floor, a runway and a pole-dancing podium, dynamic, fluid choreography by turns embraces and defies gendered norms.
In this reflection, which exposes virility as a myth, the bodies bear witness to internal struggles between identities shaped by, and resisting, social expectations.
Acknowledging a world structured by relationships of domination, these men explore, with both gentleness and strength, paths towards emancipation. Belinda Mathieu Dance, music and fashion show. Running time: 1h. Wheelchair-access booking on 01 53 65 30 00
