Overview
Freddie De Tommaso tenor, Mihai Damian baritone, Orchestre de chambre de Paris, Patrick Lange conductor. Freddie De Tommaso and the young Mihai Damian, two Grandes Voix to savour without restraint. Verdi, Ponchielli, Puccini.
Operatic arias and duets from La Force du destin, Un Bal masqué, La Gioconda, Tosca… In a few words: the British tenor Freddie De Tommaso has, in just a few years, enjoyed a meteoric rise in the world of opera. Of Italian descent, his operatic heritage seems to be in his blood.
With a powerful voice and a warm timbre, he captures with ease the essence of verismo, which demands both passion and technique.
His training at the prestigious Royal Academy of Music in London and his varied experience on international stages have shaped this young talent into an artist of established talent and vocal command.
He quickly drew attention, particularly after winning the prestigious Plácido Domingo prize at the Operalia competition in 2021, which catalysed international recognition.
He will appear tonight alongside the Romanian baritone Mihai Damian, aged 29, who caused a sensation at the final of the Operalia 2025 competition with a series of arias and duets by Verdi, Ponchielli and Puccini. Production Les Grandes Voix
