About — The venue

The Théâtre des Champs-Élysées is a large venue in Paris's 8th arrondissement. Its capacity, recorded in our data and given at the top of this page, places it among the large Parisian halls devoted to music, and its programme leaves no doubt about its purpose.

Almost all of the announced dates are classical music: recitals, chamber music, symphonic ensembles, voice. The rest consists of a handful of isolated evenings: a jazz concert, a musical show, a dance date. For a music lover, it is one of the densest and most readable listings in the capital, with classical music on almost every evening and no need to filter.

Access is straightforward from the Right Bank. Alma-Marceau station, on Line 9, is a three-minute walk away; Pont de l'Alma station, on the RER C, six minutes; and Franklin D. Roosevelt, on Lines 1 and 9, about ten minutes. Three different network entry points, which simplify both arrival and departure after a concert.

The price range shown for upcoming dates is wide: the venue offers very low access fares for part of the seats and rises markedly for the best categories. This is an important difference from a venue for contemporary music, where the ticket is often a single price. On each listing, the price displayed corresponds to the lowest access fare recorded; the precise choice of category is made on the official ticketing site, to which the booking button links.

A note on reading the programme: concerts of classical music are often announced very far in advance, sometimes a whole season ahead. The calendar on this page therefore shows months already filled, whereas a venue for contemporary music only unveils its line-up a few weeks ahead. It is a difference in rhythm worth knowing when planning an outing well in advance or, conversely, when looking for a seat for the same evening.
