Overview
Utopia Orchestra Teodor Currentzis conductor Daniel Lozakovich violin Evening under high tension with Teodor Currentzis for a Rite of Spring that is sure not to leave you indifferent. Programme Stravinsky The Rite of Spring Shostakovich Violin Concerto No. 1 op.
77 In a nutshell The Greek conductor Teodor Currentzis and his Utopia Orchestra, an ensemble he founded in summer 2022, have already set alight the halls where they have performed on several occasions.
The musician and conductor leaves no one indifferent, and many have experienced one of his interpretations as a "perilous ride towards the abyss, where every rhythm and counter-rhythm is sharply articulated, every accent and every cutting sforzando is of fierce acuity…".
Buoyed by this energy, his approach to The Rite of Spring should take on a very particular dimension.
In the second half of the evening, the young Swedish violinist Daniel Lozakovitch should also demonstrate his elegance and technical assurance in Shostakovich's Violin Concerto No. 1, which dazzles with its demonic cadenza difficulties.
