Groundation

Formed in 1998, Groundation successfully established their unique style right from their first albums, and were quickly propelled to international renown.

Their symbiosis of roots reggae and experimental jazz transports us between towering ascents and crashing explosions, dazzling solos, and surprisingly intimate passages... combined with the very distinctive voice and energy of Harrison Stafford.

Since 2000, Groundation has been paying tribute to Bob Marley's heritage through a special event: a unique tour designed to celebrate the music, message and timeless influence of the king of reggae.

Much more than a simple celebration of Marley's timeless songs, these performances pay homage to the Wailers, whose groundbreaking musical talent laid the foundations of roots reggae.

Drawing inspiration from both Marley's greatest classics and his most profound, revolutionary works, Groundation infuses this music with its own spiritual energy and unique interpretation, punctuated by improvisation, thereby creating a powerful stage experience that connects Bob's message to our modern era.

This tribute was performed only once in Europe in 2011, and has enjoyed major success during tours in the USA and South America.

To mark the anniversary of Bob Marley's passing on May 11, 1981, Groundation will present A Tribute to Bob Marley in Europe in May 2027, celebrating one of the greatest musical legacies of all time.
