Jay Jay Johanson

Jay-Jay Johanson presents his pop and indie compositions in concert at the Folies Bergère stage in Paris.

Over the years, Jay-Jay Johanson has established himself on the international scene with a musical identity marked by melancholic pop and independent leanings. His productions combine pared-back melodies, discreet orchestral arrangements and a voice with recognisable inflections, influenced by jazz, trip-hop and chamber pop. Since his first recordings released in the 1990s, the artist has developed a coherent visual and sonic aesthetic, centred on nuance and introspection.

On stage, Jay-Jay Johanson usually performs surrounded by musicians, favouring concert formats that highlight the texture of the songs and the hushed atmospheres. The set moves between recent pieces and standout tracks from his catalogue, offering a faithful rendering of his studio albums. The interpretation favours restraint and direct exchange with the room.

This evening at the Folies Bergère is aimed at lovers of melodic pop, carefully arranged songs and measured tempos. The layout of the Parisian venue allows for attentive listening, well suited to intimate repertoires and singular artistic worlds.
