JeanJass

Presented by Nonstop Productions. Born in 1988, Jassim Jean Ramdani discovered rap in the mid-2000s with his childhood friends in Exodarap. « Rap, for me, remains a team sport.  » With Goldman (2014), the Brussels-born artist takes a first solo turn.

Concert dates follow one another. His path then crosses that of Caballero. The two set up a studio, « almost by mistake  », and lay the foundations of a lasting collaboration with Double Hélice (2016). « It's the most important encounter of my professional career.

We're like two brothers. » The duo endures and goes on to share more than twenty joint projects. Alongside this, JeanJass builds a solid solo discography, in which another dimension gradually asserts itself: production.

« Very early on, I understood that if the instrumental wasn't good, even with the best rap in the world, it didn't work for me.  » Sampling and crate-digging gradually shape his universe.

He then turns his talents to other projects: Déjeuner en paix (2023) with Mairo, SCOPE (2024) with Keroué, and Cognac & Cigarettes (2024) with Jungle Jack. This freedom also extends to his writing. With Doudoune en été (2022), JeanJass adopts a more spontaneous approach.

Initially conceived as an EP, the album takes on a much greater scope. « It reinforced my belief in not calculating anything, just finishing the tracks and really listening to myself.  » I'm on the right path, there are signs that prove it.

I'm not the one looking for it, inspiration finds me. CRL NDR
