Jerome Sabbagh Quartet

Based in New York for 30 years, French saxophonist Jérôme Sabbagh comes to present his new album "Stand Up!" (Analog Tone Factory) for two exceptional concerts!

" – New York Times Jerome Sabbagh, saxophonist and composer, was born in Paris in 1973 and has lived in New York since 1995. He prioritises lyricism, sound quality, and seeks the perfect phrase above all else.

A saxophonist both rooted in the jazz tradition and representative of the contemporary New York scene in its most eclectic and vibrant aspects, Jerome Sabbagh's style is marked by a deep attachment to melody.

Sabbagh offers varied and coherent music that oscillates between pop/rock atmospheres and mysterious moods, always leaving significant room for improvisation. He was one of Paul Motian's last saxophonists, with whom he played for a week at the Village Vanguard with Ben Monder.

He has recorded twelve albums as a leader, including the highly acclaimed "Vintage", with Kenny Barron, and "Heart", with Al Foster in one of his final recordings. He has also recorded with Ben Street, Rodney Green, Daniel Humair, Jozef Dumoulin, Greg Tuohey, and Johnathan Blake.
