With Keyvan Chemirani, rhythm becomes a universal language. For many years, the percussionist has carved out a singular path between heritage and creation, bringing the tradition of the Persian zarb into conversation with today's sounds. Alongside his brother Bijan, he carries on the work of their father, Djamchid Chemirani, and explores new territories, from Iran to India, from Mediterranean cultures to jazz. With his new album "Tales of Nar", he brings together a trio of great richness, in which the percussion engages in dialogue with the subtle and inspired piano of Benjamin Moussay, a major figure of the French jazz scene. The timbres answer one another, the pulses unfold, and the compositions leave full room for improvisation. A sonic crossing where tradition and modernity meet, carried by the finesse of the exchanges, and which will find in the Théâtre de Fontblanche a natural setting in which to reveal its full depth.
