Nitai Hershkovits Trio

Presented by Charlie FreeNitai Hershkovits likes the back roads.

Trained in jazz before pursuing his research on the side of classical music, nourished by Sonny Rollins and his years with Avishai Cohen, the Israeli pianist based in New York has developed a very personal way of letting music breathe.

His playing blends groove, space, silence and poetry, giving the melodies time to unfold, transform and take unexpected paths.

With Petros Kampanis on double bass and Jorge Rossy on drums, a former partner of Brad Mehldau in his legendary trio, he forms a group in which composition and improvisation answer each other in constant listening.

The music moves forward, veers off and surprises, with that precious sense that nothing is ever entirely written in advance. To discover at Théâtre de Fontblanche, of course.
