Khalil Epi

In this immersive concert, images and live music evoke the trance rituals of the Mediterranean basin for a unique sensory experience.

Created as part of the Saison Méditerranée after a residency at La Ferme du Buisson, this hybrid project takes the form of a film-concert, at the crossroads of sound, image, and ritual.

Tunisian composer and multi-instrumentalist, trained in classical Arabic music and jazz, Khalil Epi develops a singular work here, nourished by the trance practices of the Mediterranean basin.

On stage, live electronic music dialogues with a visual scenography made of projections and mapping, conceived as a true scenic writing. The images, filmed between Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, and Italy, compose a journey through gestures, bodies, and landscapes.

Tuqus, the Arabic plural of taqs, means “rituals,” but also evokes the atmosphere, the weather, what envelops and transforms the air. Here, ritual becomes passage, cycle, metamorphosis. A crossing where time expands and where vibration connects bodies.
