Overview
Guillaume Séverac-Schmitz delivers a fiery and captivating staging of Shakespeare's most famous romantic tragedy. While the passion uniting Romeo and Juliet is no secret to anyone, the plot of this five-act drama deserves to be rediscovered.
In Verona, two families have been tearing each other apart for generations. Romeo, a fearless young Montague, catches the eye of Juliet, a Capulet. It is love at first sight!
But everything stands in the way of their love, condemned by the hatred of the clans and the violence of the adult world. Driven by a feverish troupe, live music and abundant stage effects, the play moves at a breakneck pace.
Shakespeare's language, made modern and vibrant in a new translation, lets us hear the power of desire, the brutality of the clashes and the life-affirming impulse of youth.
