Overview
“La Fabuleuse histoire de l’Opéra-Comique” tells, through comedy and music, ariettas and vaudevilles, the eventful story of the birth of a genre where sung arias blend with spoken theatre – in a way, the ancestor of the musical!
Opéra-comique gave birth to the eponymous institution, one of the oldest in France alongside the Opéra de Paris and the Comédie-Française. Created under Louis XIV, it has just celebrated its... 310th anniversary!
Under the direction of Léo Cohen-Paperman, the singers of the Académie du Théâtre national de l’Opéra-Comique invite the public on a true theatrical and musical odyssey.
In a handcrafted setting, the beauty of the music and singing blends with the humour of the situations to offer a popular and festive high-calibre show.
