La Symphonie Tombée du CielIs the extraordinary hiding in our ordinary lives? Drawing on accounts of miracles gathered across France, the orchestra La Sourde composes a symphony for voices and instruments: a shimmering, multicoloured crossing where the invisible appears and testimony becomes music. Prodigious!
An encounter, a healing, a sudden surge: the composers Samuel Achache, Florent Hubert, Ève Risser and Antonin Tri Hoang have collected testimonies of "miracles" from people of all ages and all walks of life. Broadcast at the heart of a forest of loudspeakers, these recorded voices are doubled, extended and augmented: their secret rhythms emerge, their hidden melodies are revealed. Dressed in sequinned costumes, the virtuoso and wonderfully inventive musicians bring together viola da gamba and sackbut (the ancestor of the trombone) alongside cello, double bass and piano, weaving together early music, jazz and polyphonies of today. From the ordinary to the extraordinary, music springs up here as if by magic!
