UNE VEILLÉE NORDIQUE
Ballades populaires, kveding, folkviser, kulning, ancestral songs of shepherd girls... In the northern countries, the long nights were once punctuated by evenings gathered together, where tales, songs and music intermingled. François Lazarevitch and Les Musiciens de Saint-Julien recreate the atmosphere of these shared moments, inviting us on one of those captivating journeys for which they have a special gift. We are immersed in this so poetic world to the sound of the hardingfele, a Norwegian violin with sympathetic strings played by Britt Pernille Frøholm, which blends with the colours of the early instruments. Moving between traditional heritage and contemporary expression with a fine vocal freedom, Ingeborg Dalheim brings to life traditions of great poetic richness: kveding and folkviser (popular ballads), but also kulning, the call of the shepherd girls used to gather herds in the mountains. As the music unfolds, we discover stories that recall the close bond between human beings and nature.
