Madame Classique et Monsieur Jazz

Classical and Jazz: Louise&Dexter join forces for an enchanting concert in which the piano moves between the worlds of jazz and classical music, to be discovered as a family.

Cipher is a new quartet bringing together four of the most active voices on the Norwegian jazz scene.

Their first, self-titled album, recorded at Neby Studios in Oslo in June 2025, presents a group built on deep musical rapport, collective energy and a shared curiosity about the directions music can take.

The name Cipher reflects the group's central idea: a coded language, an internal musical code developed over the years of playing together in different line-ups.

The quartet relies on an intuitive understanding of each member's phrasing, rhythmic placement and improvisational instincts.

This shared vocabulary shapes not only how the music comes to life on stage, but also the writing of the compositions themselves, which from the outset were conceived with the unique interaction between the members of the group in mind.

Line-up: Martin Nodeland: guitar; Emil Norman: drums; Andreas Svabø: double bass; Erlend Kongtorp: saxophone. The 38Riv Jazz Club is an intimate venue in the heart of the Marais (38 rue de Rivoli, Paris 4th), dedicated to jazz and improvised music.
