The ONDIF takes on the challenge of performing Symphony No. 3, welcoming mezzo-soprano Justina Gringyté, the Jeune Chœur de Paris and the Chœur de la Maîtrise de Paris. A monumental concert.

In the summer of 1895, a powerful wave of inspiration took hold of Gustav Mahler (1860-1911). Methodically, he set about composing a programme recounting the history of the universe, from the dawn of nature to the birth of humanity. A children's choir then summons the angels, before an Adagio that celebrates love.

With the number of performers on stage – nearly 100 musicians and two choirs – and its exceptional length (1 hour 30 minutes of music!), but also through the way Mahler transcended his questions about destiny and the human condition, the Symphony No. 3 is a true musical epic. An adventure beyond the ordinary under the baton of Case Scaglione, who brings his tenure as music director of the orchestra to a splendid close.
