Overview
Maria del Mar Bonet performs on the stage at L'Olympia for a concert blending the tradition of the Nova Cançó and Mediterranean music.
Maria del Mar Bonet has been part of the Catalan Nova Cançó movement since her artistic beginnings in the mid-sixties. Her compositions explore the traditional repertoires of the Balearic Islands and the entire Mediterranean basin, which she interprets with a clear, steady voice, supported by carefully crafted acoustic arrangements.
On stage, the artist delivers a sober set focused on the poetry of the lyrics, favouring closeness to the audience and the transmission of melodies passed down through generations. The accompanying instrumental lineup highlights the guitar and traditional instruments to recreate the acoustic colour of her records.
This concert is aimed at fans of world music, lyric-driven songs and Iberian musical heritage. For this performance, L'Olympia provides a seated setting suited to the attentive listening of this demanding and timeless repertoire.
