Nilusi

Nilusi, the talented French-Sri Lankan singer, performs at La Gaîté Lyrique. A unique opportunity to discover her musical universe, subtly blending her varied influences.

Nilusi, full name Nilusi Nissanka, first rose to public prominence as a member of Kids United, a group that made a significant impact with its covers of popular songs for the benefit of UNICEF. Born in 2000, she quickly demonstrated remarkable vocal maturity and stage presence, contributing to the group's resounding success from 2015 onwards. After several successful albums and sold-out tours with Kids United, Nilusi chose to embark on a solo career, revealing a more personal and introspective facet of her art.

Her solo journey has led her to explore more mature sounds and assert her own musical identity, gradually moving away from the childlike pop universe of her beginnings. She draws on her French-Sri Lankan roots to enrich her repertoire, incorporating touches of world music and melodies imbued with a particular sensibility. Her compositions reveal an artist keen to share authentic emotions, with a clear and nuanced voice, capable of navigating between power and delicacy. This visit to Paris is a wonderful opportunity to see her evolve on stage, presenting a repertoire that reflects her artistic journey.

On stage, Nilusi is renowned for her sincere interpretation and her ability to create an intimate connection with her audience. The live experience she offers is often described as a moment of sharing, where vocal quality is highlighted. Her style, although classified here in the classical genre, actually embraces a broader palette, where pop and French chanson are tinged with diverse influences, creating a unique atmosphere. At La Gaîté Lyrique, a venue known for its eclecticism and acoustics, Nilusi will have the opportunity to display the full extent of her talent, offering a concert where emotion and musicality will be paramount. She is an artist to follow, whose voice and personality continue to assert themselves with elegance and depth.
