Heir to the Orchestre de la Société Sainte-Cécile, founded in 1850, and regularly welcomed at Le Pin Galant, the Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine has around a hundred musicians and is one of the most prestigious orchestras in France.
Since September 2024, Joseph Swensen has been its Music Director. Lyricism, virtuosity, grandeur and romantic breath: the majesty of this Violin Concerto alone sums up everything Beethoven's music holds in promise for the future.
The composer, whose bicentenary of death is being celebrated, opens with this work the way to a concerto of a new kind. He does the same with the Symphony, inspiring generations of musicians after him, among whom Bruckner clearly belongs, with his epic Symphony No.
