Unveiled with the album La Nuit sans l'ennui, hailed by critics and released on the label komos records, the band PHOTONS continues its luminous trajectory at the crossroads of jazz and electronic music.

PHOTONS has the air of a supergroup: Gauthier Toux (piano, keyboards, machines) pilots this high-flying formation, Giani Caserotto (guitar), Samuel F'Hima (double bass) and Julien Loutelier (drums).

In concert, their music deploys rare intensity, as evidenced by their noted appearances this summer at Jazz à Vienne or as an opener for Herbie Hancock at Jazz à la Défense.

Their concert at Nuits Sonores, captured by arteconcert and FIP, confirmed what many suspected: PHOTONS has become one of the most vibrant bodies on today's hybrid scene. Drawing as much from club culture as from jazz culture, the band fuses electronic textures and organic techno.

Improvisation remains at the heart of the process, irrigates the structures, provokes overflows, guides intensities. Nothing is fixed, everything is in tension. In autumn 2025, the band will unveil a new chapter with the EP PLIER.

More frontal, more assertive, this short format asserts a turn towards a sound resolutely tailored for nights of trance, always driven by the demand for play and the intoxication of the live.

With PLIER, PHOTONS plays with codes: bends them with precision, to leave room for the essential - the dance.
