Princess Mononoké

Princess Mononoke. The music of legendary Japanese composer Joe Hisaishi, from the cinematic masterpiece Princess Mononoke by animation grand master Hayao Miyazaki, will be performed by the Simple Music Ensemble World.

It's almost impossible to imagine Miyazaki's world without Joe Hisaishi's music. His compositions seem to breathe a soul into the characters, making them come alive, breathe and exist beyond the screen.

In Princess Mononoke, his sublime melodies accompany, with rare intensity, the fate of young Prince Ashitaka, struck by a terrible curse and forced to undertake a perilous journey.

A journey over the course of which he discovers that the hardest battle isn't against outside forces, but the one he wages within himself.
