Syntest Quintet

LINE UP: ARLET FEUILLARD piano/lead MONA CAVÉ flute VOLODIA LAMBERT guitar OCTAVE POTIER bass VINCENT FAUVET drums The Syntest Quintet champions decidedly contemporary jazz, rooted in creation and dialogue between musicians.

Through original compositions, the group explores free forms, varied sonic textures and great rhythmic richness. Each piece is conceived as a terrain for improvisation and interaction, where writing mixes with the moment.

The quintet draws inspiration from major figures of current jazz such as Tigran Hamasyan, Aaron Parks or Kurt Rosenwinkel, while developing its own aesthetic, marked by attention to timbre, collective dynamics and contrasts of atmospheres.

The five musicians come from different backgrounds, which nourishes the singularity of the project. On flute, Mona Cavé works the sound material in depth, integrating effects, multiple flutes and influences of traditional music.

Arlet Feuillard, pianist and percussionist trained between Paris and Brussels, combines jazz harmony with a very physical relationship to rhythm inherited from Afro-Caribbean music.

Volodia Lambert, a guitarist with multiple facets, is also a bass player and composer, with a background ranging from modern jazz to contemporary music.

Octave Potier, a self-taught bass player, brings a cross-disciplinary approach to sound, drawn from his experiences in rock, electro and Brazilian music.

On drums, Vincent Fauvet builds dense rhythmic architectures, fed by his work around jazz, traditional African music and the current scene. Together, they develop free and demanding music, driven by sonic research and the pleasure of playing.

The watchword is collective exploration and living writing of today's jazz.
