Overview
From their first performances in the intimate atmosphere of the Dièse Onze to major stages at prestigious festivals on both sides of the Atlantic, The Brooks has earned a reputation as a formidable groove machine.
At the heart of the musical project of this supergroup, formed in the early 2010s, lie the pleasure of playing, genuine artistic freedom and a strong sense of collegiality.
Electrifying on record as on stage, The Brooks' music is driven by bouncing rhythms, flamboyant brass, inventive keyboards and mesmerising guitar lines.
Moving between funk, soul, R'n'B, afrobeat and jazz, The Brooks brings together bassist Alexandre Lapointe, veteran singer and trombonist Alan Prater, guitarist Philippe Look and percussionist Philippe Beaudin, virtuosos with convincing track records.
The group has released five albums, the most recent being Soon As I Can (2024), which propels their grooves to new heights.
The Brooks is far more than the sum of its parts: it is a celebration of more than 50 years of the evolution of African-American music, both respectful of its roots and firmly anchored in the present.
