Léon Phal - Bodies & Ideas

A figure of the new European jazz scene, Léon Phal develops a project at the crossroads of jazz, groove, and electronic music.

With Bodies & Ideas, his fourth album, he extends the momentum begun with Stress Killer, widely praised upon release and defended over a hundred concerts in France and internationally.

The project has notably performed in Paris with sold-out concerts at La Maroquinerie and New Morning, as well as at MaMA Festival, opening for Vulfpeck at Jazz à Vienne, at Winter Jazzfest New York, at Ronnie Scott's in London, and at the Montreal International Jazz Festival.

On stage, the band composed of Gauthier Toux (keyboards), Zacharie Ksyk (trumpet), Rémi Bouyssière (bass), and Arthur Alard (drums) plays tightly, with true collective intensity. The sound is warm, organic, the groove constant, and the concert immediately captivates.

It's a live experience that is both gripping and danceable, recognized for its effectiveness by audiences and professionals alike.

With Bodies & Ideas, the project also opens to other colors on record, notably through collaborations with Italian singer Fabiana Martone (Nu Genea) and rapper Jungle Jack.
