Overview
The Womack Sisters – Kucha, Zeimani and BG Womack – were singing before they even knew how to walk. Their forthcoming self-titled debut album on Daptone Records is the musical culmination of the long and winding journey that led them to find themselves.
Through a selection of deeply soulful tracks reminiscent of an era when pop music had depth, mood and meaning, each of their distinct voices gets its moment to shine. The sisters grew up on the road.
Their schools were the stages and studios of the world, where they sang alongside their parents, Zekkariyas and Zeriiya (formerly Womack & Womack), as well as their four siblings. They never stayed in one place for long.
No matter where they lived, they were always surrounded by music and family. Granddaughters of the legendary Sam Cooke and nieces of Bobby Womack, the Womack Sisters hail from a royal lineage of soul that deeply permeates their musical universe.
Looking simultaneously to the future and anchored in the past, they pay tribute to their family heritage while crafting a sound entirely their own.
