Thee Sinseers

Led by Joey Quiñones, a child of East Los Angeles and central figure of the group, Thee Sinseers have shaped since 2019 a sound that draws from R&B and soul while freeing itself from the rigid codes of the genre.

Alongside his musicians, Quiñones builds a singular aesthetic, nourished by a profoundly modern vision of timeless music. As their new album Love Stories on Colemine Records approaches release, one thing immediately stands out: this record does not tell a simple, tidy love story.

It is not interested in the happy ending, but in everything that precedes, follows, or escapes it. For this album, the group chose more organic instrumentation: double bass, guitars plugged into amps to rediscover that warmth typical of the 1960s...

Inspirations surge from everywhere, sometimes even from the most unexpected places. It is precisely this borderless approach that, according to Quiñones, best defines the record: "At no point did we feel like we were making soul.

" With Love Stories, Thee Sinseers sought to capture something more honest than a simple collection of beautiful moments. The album explores both the heights and flaws of romantic relationships, while opening the discussion to complex or unresolved family bonds.
