Overview
This big band of young virtuosos first formed to recreate the music of the great jazz orchestras of the 1930s and 1940s. -A. Badaroux, in manuscript archive collections, they have reconstructed a repertoire of more than 200 pieces.
For this programme, entitled "Une brève histoire du swing", which traces twenty years of what was the dance music of the interwar period, they have drawn both on the great standards of the era and on little-known, largely forgotten repertoires that are nonetheless very interesting.
On this New Year's Eve, they will transport us to the Savoy Ballroom, the Cotton Club or one of the countless dancehalls that lined the streets of Harlem in the Swing Era, and they will certainly get the feet of Lindy Hop and Jitterbug enthusiasts itching to dance.
