Overview
This big band of young virtuosos first formed to recreate the music of the great jazz orchestras of the 1930s and 40s. -A. Badaroux, in manuscript archives, they have reconstructed a repertoire of over 200 pieces.
For this programme, entitled "Une brève histoire du swing" (A Brief History of Swing), which traces twenty years of what was the dance music of the interwar period, they have drawn from both the great standards of the era and from little-known and largely forgotten but nevertheless very interesting repertoires.
On this New Year's Eve, they will transport us to the Savoy Ballroom, the Cotton Club, or one of the countless dancehalls that populated the streets of Harlem during the Swing Era, and are sure to get the feet tapping of Lindy Hop and Jitterbug enthusiasts.
