Unpeople

unpeople is a project brimming with energy, driven by a passionate animosity towards the state of the world and its effects on humanity. This quartet, composed of guitarists Jake Crawford and Luke Caley, bassist Em Lodge, and drummer Richard Rayner, pursues a common mission: to blend sincere lyrics and powerful riffs with catchy melodies and lush harmonies. The band recently unveiled their new single "friends" and announced their debut album, "we are unpeople", set for release on October 9th this year. The announcement of their 2027 UK and Ireland tour follows a series of sold-out London shows and their win at this year's Heavy Music Awards in the Best Breakthrough Live Artist category. They have also received praise from media outlets such as The Guardian — "Blistering guitar feedback from rising British avant-rockers unpeople, who can lay claim to the loudest performance of the [Download] weekend" — and Kerrang! The band made their main stage debuts at the Download and Slam Dunk festivals this year in the UK, while also performing for the first time at several European festivals, including Copenhell, Jera on Air, Greenfield, Rock for People and many others. The root of their commitment lies in their name: unpeople, which refers to a group of people considered politically insignificant or worthless.
