Carminho

Carminho, stage name of Maria do Carmo Carvalho Rebelo de Andrade, born on August 20, 1984 in Lisbon (Portugal), is a Portuguese fado singer (fadista) and popular music artist. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother Teresa Siqueira in particular being a renowned fadista. She is one of the most talented representatives of the young generation of fado singers. Eclectic, Carminho also explores other musical genres: Portuguese and Brazilian traditional music, jazz, pop, and rock.

Carminho became a star in Spain when she performed a duet with Spanish singer Pablo Alborán on the song Perdóname, which reached the top of Spanish charts in 2011. Carminho's two albums, Fado (2009) and Alma (2012), were certified platinum and gold records in Portugal.
