About — The venue

The Salle Pleyel is located on rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. Its capacity, noted at the top of the page, places it among the large Parisian venues, in a category similar to that of the historic stages in the city centre.

Its current programming is more open than its reputation as a classical concert hall might suggest. Classical music remains the primary genre represented, but it no longer dominates the listings: French chanson and variety follow closely, ahead of pop-rock, soul, world music, and electro. Today, it is a large-capacity generalist venue, rather than a specialised stage.

Access is primarily via Line 2: Ternes station is a four-minute walk, Courcelles six minutes. Charles-de-Gaulle-Étoile station, where Lines 1, 2, and 6 as well as RER A intersect, is about an eight-minute walk — this is the preferred option for coming from afar or returning to the suburbs after the concert.

The prices observed for upcoming dates are at the higher end of the Parisian range, with an already elevated floor. This is explained by the size of the venue and the nature of the productions hosted: high-demand concerts, often sold by seating categories.

In a venue of this type, the price displayed on a listing corresponds to the lowest observed access fare. The difference with the best seats can be significant, and the choice of category is made on the official ticketing website, accessible via the booking button on each listing.

A final reading tip: do not rely solely on the name of the venue to guess the content of an evening. Here more than elsewhere, the same address hosts a classical recital one night and a variety concert the next. The genre indicated on each listing is the guide to follow, and the calendar on this page allows you to scan an entire month at a glance.
