About — The artist

Catherine Bodet, known as Catherine Lara, born 29 May 1945 in Poissy (Yvelines), is a French singer-songwriter, arranger and music producer.

Her musical path began with a father who was a doctor and violinist, a mother and sister who were pianists, and a brother who was a jazz organist. She won first prize at the Versailles Conservatory in 1958, and continued her studies at the Paris Conservatory. The stiff atmosphere of classical music suited this spirited young woman only so far. After a second prize in violin (1965) and a first prize in chamber music (1966), her professional career began with Les Musiciens de Paris.
