About — The artist

Catherine Bodet, known as Catherine Lara, born on May 29, 1945, in Poissy (Yvelines), is a French singer-songwriter, arranger, and music producer.

Her musical journey began surrounded by a doctor and violinist father, a pianist mother and sister, and a jazz organist brother. First prize at the Versailles Conservatory in 1958, Catherine Lara continued her studies at the Paris Conservatory. The stuffy atmosphere of classical music was not well suited to this lively young woman. Second prize in violin (1965), first prize in chamber music (1966), her professional career began with the Musiciens de Paris.
