Sylvie Vartan (in Bulgarian: Силви Вартан) is a Bulgarian-French singer and dancer, born on 15 August 1944 in Iskretz (Bulgaria).
Beginning her singing career in France in 1961, Sylvie Vartan has released over forty studio albums and achieved success with songs such as La Plus Belle pour aller danser, Comme un garçon, La Maritza, 2 min 35 de bonheur, Irrésistiblement and J'ai un problème (a duet with Johnny Hallyday), among others.
She has also performed numerous songs adapted into French, such as Le locomotion, I'm watching, Dansons, Si je chante, Bye bye Leroy Brown, Qu'est-ce qui fait pleurer les blondes ?, Petit rainbow, Nicolas, and L'amour c'est comme une cigarette.
