About — The artist
The Chameleons (also known as The Chameleons UK in the United States) are a British post-punk band, originally from Middleton, Greater Manchester, England. The band consisted of singer and bassist Mark Burgess, guitarist Reg Smithies, guitarist Dave Fielding, and drummer John Lever. The band first split in 1987, after three albums, following the death of their manager Tony Fletcher, before reforming in 2000. They then recorded three more albums (two unplugged, and one studio version), went on tour, and then split up again. Drummer John Lever died in March 2017.
