About — The artist
Cheb Mami is the "prince of raï": his high and ornate voice has brought the Algerian genre to stages around the world, from the global duo "Desert Rose" with Sting to classics "Parisien du Nord" with K-Mel or "Meli Meli". Between Oran tradition, pop and urban sounds, he has made several generations from both sides of the Mediterranean dance. His Paris concerts are intense raï celebrations, where the Maghrebi diaspora celebrates a repertoire that has become common heritage.
